Manchester City put on notice as Danish star Christian Eriksen rejects Ajax

Last week the speculative rumours around Christian Eriksen moved throughout the Internet.

Now sporten.dk via Soccerway.com reports that Eriksen spoke with technical director Marc Overmars to inform him that he will not be signing a new contract with Ajax.

Does this open the door for Manchester City, one of the main sides linked with Eriksen, as the Eastlands club looks to rebound on what has been an underwhelming 2012-13 campaign?

The 20-year-old Denmark international footballer's current contract at the Amsterdam ArenA ends summer 2014.
